Our Terms & Conditions
Version: 1.00 Last updated: 18th June, 2025
We and Us mean Chase Business School Limited, who will provide the online distance learning course to the student.
You means the student receiving the online distance learning course or qualification.
Course means a CMI-accredited online distance learning course or qualification.
Terms of supply
By enrolling on a course through our website, you’re confirming that:
- You’re legally able to enter into a binding agreement
- You’re at least 18 years old
- You’ve read and understood the course details, requirements, fees, and any exam arrangements
Student obligations
When you join a course with Chase Business School, we ask you to:
- Work with us in good faith throughout your course
- Not copy, sell, share, or distribute any of the course materials in any form
- Keep your coursework for at least 3 years in case it’s requested by our awarding body (CMI) as part of their quality checks
- Keep your contact details up to date so we can stay in touch and ensure our emails reach you
- Understand that if there’s a delay or issue caused by something on your side, we can’t be held responsible for any costs or outcomes that result
Courses and fees
We follow the Consumer Contracts Regulations, which allow you 14 calendar days from the date we receive your payment to cancel and get a full refund. Please refer to our Refunds Policy for full details.
Additional fees
We like to keep things clear and upfront. Some services may carry extra charges if needed during your course:
- Parking your course (up to 6 months): £220
- Assignment re-mark (upon request): £120 per assignment
- Internal verification request: £220 per assignment
- Assignment deadline extension: £35 per week
- Course or unit re-enrolment (if lapsed): £360
We’ll always let you know before any additional fees are applied.
Fee payments
Course fees need to be paid before your official start date.
You can pay by credit/debit card or bank transfer. If you’ve chosen to pay in instalments:
- You’ve entered into a binding agreement to complete payment in full
- If you stop your course, the remaining fees still apply
- If you miss a payment, late interest of 5% may be added
- We may pause your course access (including tutor support) until payments are up to date
In the case of serious non-payment, your account may be referred to a debt recovery agency, which could impact your credit record. Students with outstanding balances won’t be able to re-enrol with us until the debt is resolved.
Courier charges
Your course fee includes courier charges for your certificate once you successfully complete your course.
Need an extra copy or a reprint? That’s no problem – we’ll just charge a small fee to cover postage and admin costs.
If a certificate is returned to us due to an incorrect address, a re-delivery charge will also apply.
Enrolment conditions
To keep everything running smoothly:
- Students must enrol within one calendar month of purchase, or their enrolment will be considered lapsed
- If you’re studying one unit at a time, you’ll need to start your next unit within 3 months of completing the previous one (measured from the assignment deadline)
- If you need a break, you may be able to “park” your course for up to 6 months – this carries a fee of £220. Just email support services for help
Assignment submission deadlines
We’re here to help you stay on track.
To remain enrolled, you’ll need to submit your assignments by the deadlines outlined in your timetable. If you miss a deadline, your enrolment may lapse. This would mean re-enrolling in the unit or full course – additional fees may apply.
If you’re having difficulties, please reach out to your dedicated Tutor before the deadline – we’re here to support you.
Assignment referred
Sometimes assignments need a little revision. If your tutor refers your work:
- You’ll get an automatic one-week extension to resubmit
- Your tutor will guide you on what needs to change
- If your resubmission is unsuccessful, that may mean the unit (and possibly the course) is considered failed
- You can request a second opinion via a re-mark by an independent tutor — additional fees apply
Assignment extensions
We understand life can throw surprises.
You may request up to 8 additional weeks beyond your original assignment deadline across your entire course. This includes the automatic 1-week referral period.
Extensions carry a weekly charge of £35 to cover additional tutor support and marking time.
Important:
- The 8 weeks are for your full course – not per unit
- If you lapse without requesting an extension, re-enrolment costs £360
- No extra time can be granted if you’re already using a referral extension
Assignment moderation
All assignments are marked by your tutor and then reviewed through our quality process, which includes internal verification and moderation by CMI. This can take up to 14 weeks.
During this time, you may be asked to make small adjustments to meet awarding body standards. We’ll guide you through any changes needed to help you successfully complete your qualification.
Lapsed students
A student is considered “lapsed” if:
- There’s been no contact with your tutor or support team for 3 months
- You’ve missed a key assignment deadline
- You haven’t started your next unit within 3 months of completing the previous one
Lapsed students can rejoin within 3 months of their original enrolment by paying a re-enrolment fee of £360. Rejoining is always subject to course and registration time limits with CMI — and at the discretion of the Management Team.
Access to your Moodle account will also be paused after a lapse. Please stay in touch with your tutor — we’re here to help keep you on track.
Transferring your course
We don’t currently allow you to transfer your course to another person.
If you’d like to switch to a different course, we’ll review this on a case-by-case basis. Additional fees may apply, especially if CMI requires a new registration.
If the new course is lower in cost, we’re unable to refund the difference.
Plagiarism
We take academic honesty seriously.
If you submit work that is found not to be your own, you may be immediately removed from your course. No refund will be given.
We know mistakes can happen — so if you’re unsure about referencing or originality, please speak to your tutor before submitting.
Appeals and complaints
We want your learning experience to be positive and fair. If something’s not right, we’re here to listen.
Please start by contacting your tutor or support team. You can also refer to our full Appeals Policy and Complaints Procedure.
What can you appeal?
- Assessment outcomes
- Reasonable adjustment decisions
- Malpractice findings
- Complaint resolutions
What counts as a complaint?
- A service wasn’t delivered as expected
- Facilities, resources, or access weren’t up to standard
- Incorrect information was provided
- Concerns about staff behaviour
If a complaint is submitted, we may pause your course access temporarily. Once it’s resolved, we’ll make sure your learning time is fairly extended so you’re not disadvantaged.
Data protection
We handle your data carefully and in line with UK GDPR.
We collect only what’s needed to support your course and communicate with you effectively. We’ll never sell your data, and we only share it with:
- The Chartered Management Institute (CMI) — for registration, moderation, and certification
- Our essential service providers (e.g. Moodle, payment platforms like Stripe)
Your data is stored securely, kept up to date, and only retained as long as needed:
- Enquiry data is deleted after 12 months (unless you opt in to newsletters)
- Student data is deleted once your course is completed, failed, or lapsed
- You can request a copy of your data at any time
By enrolling, you consent to these practices.
Intellectual property rights
All course materials belong to Chase Business School Ltd.
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the materials for your personal learning only. You may not share, sell, or republish them in any form.
If your enrolment ends, your licence to use the materials ends too.
Student behaviour / professional conduct
We’re proud to foster a respectful and inclusive learning environment. We reserve the right to remove students from a course — without refund — if they engage in serious misconduct.
Examples include:
- Use of offensive or discriminatory language
- Threatening or aggressive communication
- Harassment, bullying, or false allegations
- Defamation or spreading misinformation about Chase Business School or others
Where necessary, reports may be made to CMI, and legal action may be considered.
You’re also expected to comply with all relevant laws when using our Moodle platform, including:
- UK GDPR
- Copyright & intellectual property laws
- The Computer Misuse Act
- The Protection from Harassment Act
All communication must come directly from you, the enrolled student. Please notify us if your personal details change.
