These CMI Level 7 qualifications are designed for individuals wishing to develop strategic management and leadership practice who will have the knowledge, skills and behaviours to drive business activities in a senior, regional, specialist, director or CEO management and leadership role.

Who should take this course

The qualifications have been designed for practising or aspiring managers in roles such as:

Senior Manager
Regional Manager
Specialist Manager (with expertise in a specific business or technical function such as quality, finance, risk, marketing, sales IT, human resources etc.)
Director or a CEO

Course duration

This course provides a broad base of knowledge and skills consisting of two units and typically takes between two and four months to complete. You can complete each unit faster or slower depending on your availability to study and learning style.

Progression opportunities

Upon successful completion of their qualification, learners are able to progress to further learning within the suite of Level 7 Qualifications in Strategic Management and Leadership in Practice – i.e. completing an Award and topping-up to Certificate, Diploma or an Extended Diploma.

Learners may also investigate the opportunity to become a Chartered Manager or enrolling on a higher level qualification with the CMI or progressing on to Higher Education study.

Course content

Learners must complete two units to a minimum of 140 TQT hours, 14 credits to achieve this qualification. The minimum guided hours is 36.

701 Strategic Leadership (TUT 110)

The aim of this unit is to equip leaders with an in-depth understanding of strategic leadership within an organisational context. Leaders will explore the complexities of the role and the theoretical perspectives, approaches, behaviours and skills which can enhance their professional practice. The unit focuses on the leader’s ability to respond creatively to complex organisational challenges and understand how to set and deliver sustainable strategic goals.

702 Leading and Developing People to Optimise Performance (TUT 100)

The aim of this unit is for leaders to develop an in-depth understanding of how to effectively lead and develop people. They will explore the influence and impact of leadership theories, culture, wellbeing, development and design, policy and strategy that can be used creatively within the leadership role. Ultimately, leaders will have the opportunity to propose a leadership and development strategy. The aim of which values people whilst optimising an organisation’s performance.

Why would you want to pay One unit at a time vs Paying monthly?

This will depend on your specific requirement and how you plan to study, preference on payment schedule and availability of funds.

For example: If you prefer to pay a lower amount every month – a monthly subscription option will work better.
